Classes in both hard and soft shoes are available for ages 3 and up, boys and girls of all experience levels.

We teach traditional Irish rhythms (jigs, reels, and hornpipes) in both soft and hard shoes. Dancers also learn traditional ceili (kay-lee), or figure dances and set dances unique to this art form.

As a performance-based studio, we focus on simply sharing the joy of Irish dance with our audiences, and we enjoy performing several times a year.

Our beautiful studio located in Bluffdale, Utah features two dance rooms:

Room A: 700 sf (maple, sprung flooring)

Room B: 1200 sf (Marley, sprung flooring)

Rooms have AC, fans, and full mirroring and barres and a parent waiting area with viewing windows.

PRACTICE WEAR AND COSTUMES

Clothing for weekly classes includes exercise shirts and shorts or stretch pants. What’s most important is the dancer’s ability to move comfortably and the teacher’s ability to see the knees.

Performance costumes are available for purchase based on class level. We pride ourselves on beautiful, affordable, and modest costuming.

Would you like to host a performance?

Invite our dancers to delight your audience with both traditional and modern Irish dance choreography.

Featuring both hard and soft shoes, we’re sure to entertain with our love of the Irish.

Our teachers have years of professional teaching experience, and they’re also committed to an inclusive studio culture where everyone can participate and have fun.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHO CAN SIGN UP?

Anyone! Ages 3+, child and adult classes, boys and girls, beginning through advanced skill levels.  And no experience is necessary for an older dancer who wants to give Irish Dancing a try. There is a class for everyone.

DO YOU OFFER FAMILY DISCOUNTS?

Yes. We have lots of siblings and parents/children who join together. A 10% family discount is available on tuition for additional dancers of the same household.

WHEN CAN I START?

Open enrollment is July-December. By January we are beginning preparations for our performance season and it is difficult to add new dancers during this time, so teacher approval is required for enrollment January-June.

DO YOU PERFORM AND COMPETE?

We love to perform! Most of our performances happen around St. Patrick’s Day and mid-summer. Our annual recital, Celtic Celebration, showcases all of our dancers and is held in June. All ADC dancers will have opportunities to perform, regardless of age or dancing level. ADC is a non-competitive studio. Learn more about our performances here

WHAT ARE THE COSTUMES LIKE?

Female dancers wear either a skirt/skort and t-shirt or a traditional dress with a full skirt. Dancers also wear tights or poodle socks, and a traditional cape. Male dancers can wear a kilt and t-shirt or slacks with a vest and tie.  Costumes are embellished with traditional Celtic knotwork, embroidery, and gems. Our studio emphasizes beautiful, affordable, and modest costuming that both dancers and parents will love.

CAN I JUST LEARN HARD SHOE?

No. We do not accept dancers who only want to learn hard shoe. All dancers begin in soft shoe before adding hard shoe. Developing technique, rhythm, and strength in soft shoe is an important pre-requisite to learning hard shoe and cannot be rushed. When dancers have progressed to an intermediate level in soft shoe and have teacher approval, they may begin hard shoe dancing. Older dancers usually progress a little faster than our youngest dancers. Dancers should anticipate a minimum of 1-2 years of dancing exclusively in soft shoe before adding hard shoe.

“This is my 2nd year in ADC and I love it! It’s helped me grow so much – from no dance experience to intermediate  – and put me in a fun community. ADC’s shows and dances are amazing and I'm so glad I get to be a part of it.

Reid, dancer age 13

“Our children love dancing with ADC! We have been a part of the studio since fall 2018. With small class sizes and interactive teachers, our children receive personal instruction helping them continually excel. Throughout the year, there are many fun performance opportunities for them to share their developing talents. We love watching our kids grow!”

Katie, parent of 5 ADC dancers ranging from ages 3-10

ADC is a family-friendly place! I love that they work with beginners, no matter what age. It’s wonderful to see them all perform at senior living homes, caring for those who can’t get out to see performances. My daughter started there 3 years ago, and another child of mine joined 2 years ago. Next year two more of my children plan to start. The school has fun dances and keeps the costs low for the dancers. I also love that I don’t have to pay extra for the final performance! They do such a great job with choreography and choosing appropriate costumes. We love ADC!
