COVID-19 precautions

 Updated Dec 2020

Teachers will screen for dancers for symptoms at the studio door before entering class. Dancers should quarantine at home for 14 days if they have had a confirmed exposure to someone with COVID-19. They may participate in class via Zoom. Dancers should also stay home if they or anyone in the household has COVID-19 symptoms including:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Shortness of Breath

  • Sore Throat

  • Decreased sense of taste or smell

  • Muscle aches and pains

  1. Bring a small bag with only dance shoes and a water bottle. Store bag and change shoes where directed. No locker storage for now. Street shoes may be left in the lobby or personal bag; please remove them before walking on the dance floors.

  2.  In compliance with the state mask mandate, everyone must wear a mask while coming in and out of the building and in the lobby areas. Store mask in personal bag or around neck while dancing.

  3.  To avoid congregating and touching of shared surfaces do not use the lobby for shoe changes, use the drinking fountain (except to fill water bottles) or store items in lockers.

  4. Parents are encouraged to wait outside during class. We understand that some little ones may need parent help. If you must enter with your child, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

  5. Everyone must sanitize hands upon entering and exiting the studio (including going to the drinking fountain; please send a pre-filled water bottle instead. We also sell water bottles in our lobby fridge for $0.50).

  6. Use sanitizer or wash hands for 20 seconds with soap and water after using the restroom and contact with shared surfaces.

  7. Follow teacher directions and markings in the studio to maintain 6' and 10' spacing. (10' for active dancing, 6' for shoe changes and lining up). Spaces will be clearly marked on the wall and floor.

  8. Minimize unnecessary touching of surfaces including walls, floors, etc. and wear hair up to avoid touching your face.

  9. At the direction of teachers, use yoga mats or stools in the classroom to avoid sitting directly on the floor.  Dancers are encouraged to bring their own mats, if possible.

  10. Parents should arrive for drop off and pick up on time to minimize dancers' wait time in the lobby. If you arrive early, please have dancers wait with you in the car until no sooner than 5 minutes before class.

Anyone who has had exposure to COVID-19 (15+ minute contact within 6 feet of someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19) must self-quarantine for 14 days before re-entering the studio, even if you have no symptoms. So dancers will not get behind if they need to exercise this precaution, our teachers are prepared to include dancers on Zoom. Just contact us in advance for this option.

If a dancer or teacher has a confirmed case of COVID-19, they must isolate at home. If a dancer feels well enough to dance or observe while isolating, they may also participate on Zoom during this time.

A dancer may return to the studio after isolating when the following conditions have been met:

  1. 10 days since symptoms first appeared and

  2. 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and

  3. Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving

If we are made aware of a confirmed exposure of COVID-19 in any of our classes, we will notify parents, dancers and teacher(s)  and ask the class to self quarantine for 14 days as a precaution. An exposure is defined as 15+ minute contact within 6 feet of someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Instruction will be offered on Zoom for those dancers during this time.

Thank you for your cooperation and support! Because of you we are able to continue dancing!
